Dal Park

Dal Park is a German animation artist based in Berlin. She graduated with an MA in Animation at Royal College of Art in 2018. Her award winning graduation film ‘West Question East Answer’ has been screened and selected in multiple animation festivals around the world. Dal studied communication design at University of Applied Sciences in Munich with focus on interaction and service design. After her graduation she chanced upon an internship as a production assistant in Berlin. During her internship, she enjoyed working on different moving image formats. Wanting to explore this field more, she started interning as motion graphic designer in different studios while pursuing freelance work alongside. She fell in love with animation and all the exciting narrative opportunities it offered. A couple years later she moved to London to study animation at Royal College of Art. At RCA, a whole new and vast world of animation opened up to her. She re- discovered her love for hand drawing which when integrated with animation allowed her to be explorative - experimenting and playing with visualisation of concepts. In her independent work she created experimental narrative animations mainly drawn from personal experiences. She enjoys combining a naive visual style with playful movements, camera transitions and exaggerated and metaphorical imagery to capture and evoke deep emotions.
