Amy Kanematsu Griffiths is a filmmaker and visual artist whose work explores identity, personal narratives, and female relationships through a documentary-style lens. Inspired by her experiences growing up in the UK as a mixed-race woman of Japanese and British heritage, Amy’s films reflect on cultural memory, the influence of close friendships, and the quiet complexities of personal connection. Her work often incorporates old camcorders to evoke a sense of nostalgia, capturing raw, unfiltered moments that feel intimate, emotionally layered and timeless. Amy is particularly interested in approaching fine art through film, blending visual storytelling with tactile, experimental processes. In 2025, she will begin studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts, where she plans to continue expanding her visual storytelling practice.
