Briar Rose is a Māori filmmaker, producer, and director from Aotearoa, New Zealand with over twelve years of experience working across film and television. Her work spans directing, producing, acting, and stunt performance, giving her a wide creative perspective on storytelling and production.

Briar's practice centers on stories that explore identity, land, culture, and the living relationships between people and place. As an Indigenous storyteller, she is passionate about creating films that honor ancestral knowledge, amplify Indigenous voices, and reconnect audiences with the cultural and ecological roots of story.

Through her work behind and in front of the camera, Briar brings a strong commitment to human-centered storytelling, crafting films that bridge contemporary cinema with deeper cultural memory.
