Caitlin Black and Joanne Thomson

Joanne Thomson is an Actor, Writer and Director from Glasgow. As an RCS BA Acting graduate and a BAFTA US Newcomer, she has acted in several BAFTA-winning series, been in plays across the UK, and has directed internationally award-winning theatre.Her debut short which she wrote and directed recently premiered at Women X Festival where it was nominated for 3 awards and won Best Lead Performance. Her queer, women-led pilot Spinner & Marie also won C21’s coveted Screenwriting Award at Content London in 2021. Her debut play Jack in a Box was recently shortlisted for both the St Andrews Playwriting Award and Theatre 503’s International Playwriting Award after being chosen for The Royal Shakespeare Company's 37 Plays project. It has most recently been chosen by Francesca Moody Productions (Fleabag, Baby Reindeer) to form part of their Shedinburgh Originals programme at this year’s Fringe Festival....

Caitlin Black is a Scottish film director known for an observational and portraiture style. Influenced by the outdoors, Caitlin crafts films that are both sensory and personable, often blending natural lighting, docu-style cinematography, and close, intimate vignettes set against vast backdrops of landscape. Her eye for sensibility has earned her collaborations with global brands such as UEFA, NIVEA, Real Madrid, Strava, and Red Bull.Caitlin studied at Central Saint Martins in London, and mostly splits her time between Glasgow and London. Her short films have screened at BFI London Film Festival, Berlin Shorts, Norwich, GSFF and the 1905 International Human Rights Film Festival. Her latest short ‘On The Twelfth Day Of Findom’ premiered at WomenX 2025.
