Maya is a queer filmmaker and live comedy producer based in South London. She likes to make and support projects that find playful and delicate angles into human experiences not explored enough on screen or stage. Maya’s experimental vignette play SECRETING ran at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 to excellent reviews and forged the start of her directing experience, as well collaborations with producer Amber Ash. Together, they produce a sketch and musical comedy night, SKETCHY, which recurs quarterly in South London venues. SMALL PLATES is her first short film and has only given her an appetite for writing and directing more. Alongside her creative practice, Maya works in agenting.
