Hélène Mastrandréas is a photographer and filmmaker who graduated from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. A life-altering event has guided her work toward a continuous inquiry: how do we inhabit our bodies? Through this lens, she brings a distinctly feminine perspective to themes such as minorities, disability, and alternative lifestyles. Her aesthetic, rooted in intimacy, has been shaped by the nuanced landscapes of her Mediterranean childhood. In 2025, she was awarded a writing grant by the Région Sud for her documentary 'Confrontation', which explores sexual violence. Her work will be exhibited at La Maison Perchée and the Musée de la Ville de Saint-Denis.In 2024, she was selected for a residency led by france·tv slash to develop a documentary series on gender-based and sexual violence. She also exhibited her photographic series Ventres at Chapelle XIV Gallery and held a solo show at the Pavillon des Canaux. In 2023, she curated a cycle of exhibitions and talks at La Cité Audacieuse in partnership with the association En Avant Toute(s).
