Samia Rachel

Samia Rachel is a Directress & Photographer based in Berlin. She was born in Anse Royale Mahé, Seychelles, and grew up close to the Swiss border in Germany.

She discovered her interest for photographic imagery during her portfolio year at an art school in Switzerland and has continued to develop her visual expression in this way ever since.

After her photo media design studies, she started working as a photographer for various commercial fashion, beauty and still-life clients. Since then, she has found her own language and approach to filmmaking. With 'Same Line', Samia wants to rediscover her love for art and cinema, shifting away from a commercial perspective in order to tell an authentic story representing real women.
