Victoria Rivera is a New York-based writer and director who hails from Colombia. She focuses on documentary and narrative films that tackle social issues and intimate stories. Her shorts have screened in Academy Qualifying festivals around the world including Tribeca Film Festival, Palm Springs and FICCI among others. She was the recipient of the National Board of Review Student Film Award in 2010 for her short ‘In the Dark’, and was recently awarded the Student Film Award by the Directors Guild of America for her short film ‘Verde’. She is currently enrolled in Columbia University's graduate program for screenwriting and directing where she is writing original television pilots as well as a feature script under the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation mentorship program.
