Zeta Gkoka

Zeta is an artist and filmmaker based in London, UK. Originally from Greece, moved to the UK in 2014 to continue with postgraduate studies. She was awarded a BTEC LEVEL 3 National Diploma in Art and Design with distinction in July 2023 by the Mary Ward Centre and the University of Arts London(UAL).

Over the last few years in London, she has immersed herself in the independent filmmaking scene, contributing to projects showcased at the British Film Institute (BFI) and various international film festivals.

In 2025, she completed the documentary You Can Call Me Lou, which was filmed using a combination of Super 8mm film and digital media. The film had its exclusive online premiere on the international film platform NOWNESS. During its festival run, it was selected by the British Film Institute for the 69th BFI London Film Festival (short film programme), and was also selected for BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival 2026, London Short Film Festival 2026, The Queer Archive Festival 2025 (Paris), and Queer Screen's Mardi Gras Film Festival 2026 (Sydney). The film is also currently under consideration for the BAFTA Awards 2027.

She is currently working on a feature documentary, invited by the National Theatre of Serbia (Novi Sad), focusing on the ballet production Giselle. The project captures fifty ballet dancers using analogue film.

As an artist deeply invested in storytelling, Zeta is particularly passionate about amplifying the voices of underrepresented individuals. She is committed to telling diverse, compelling stories—especially those of women and marginalised communities—whose narratives remain largely untold.
