Girls In Film is teaming up with Minute Shorts – the mobile movie app to enjoy short films on your commute - for a special online event on March 31st.
Stories need to be told, but who gets to be paid to tell those stories? With branded content taking over the advertising industry and the film industry being called out on its lack of inclusivity, everyone wants a piece of the individuals that will give them a good conscience as they feel they’re contributing to the conversation at large.
How do women accept others to tell their stories? Do others have to create & give space to them? Or do women simply need to take back the narrative at all cost? Why do identity stories always have to be an example of empowerment and resilience? How does that erase the experience of the everyday woman? What have we learned this past month of March celebrating women?
We’ll explore all those questions through a curated screening of short films and a panel discussion with the filmmakers.
Wednesday March 31st - 7.30pm-9.00pm GMT. Go to the Eventbrite page to book your ticket (donation based).
