Anna Coccoli

Anna Coccoli, born in 1999, is a young Roman director. Her first experiences on set date back to the beginning of high school when she was chosen by Paolo Virzì to play a small role in Notti Magiche, where she fell in love with the camera. In 2022  returned to performance as the lead of "Albertine Where are You?", a short film by Maria Guidone, awarded at the International Critics' Week at the Venice Film Festival.

She studied Direction at the School of Cinema Art Gian Maria Volonté, where she directed shorts including "Gray Ash", "L'autostoppista" and "Tits Don’t Cry".Whilst studying, she began shooting and editing videoclips, gaining positions as both a director and assistant director.

Anna has always been interested in politics and social issues, and she likes to explore with irony the small rebellions and extraordinary facts that overturn assumptions fixed in the past. When she is not fighting against windmills, she is an assistant director in movies and TV series including "Bangla: The Series", "La Storia", and "Antonia", without ever losing sight of her dream of becoming a director.
