Emma Branderhorst

Emma Branderhorst graduated as a director in 2019 and made it her brand and direction to show a realistic representation of reality deeply rooted in immersive storytelling. Her work is pure, taken from a real-life perspective but with a cinematic touch. Through powerful and independent female protagonists, she intentionally tells stories from a feminine perspective. Besides her young age of 27, she has an impressive track record of awards. In 2019, her graduation film 'Under the Skin' was selected for the Berlinale K-Plus competition. In 2022, her debut film Spotless was also selected for the Berlinale K-Plus competition and won the Crystal Bear. With Spotless, Emma was also qualified for the Academy Awards of 2023. Emma is currently working on her first two features. In addition to filmmaking, she is working as a commercial director. Last year she won GOLD at the Young Director Award in Cannes, 3 SILVER lamps at the ADCN Awards in Amsterdam and BRONZE at Ciclope Festival in Berlin.
