Kees (17) is taking her first steps towards adulthood and has decided to take a language course in Marseille. She is impulsive and eager for adventure. But perhaps the biggest reason for going so far from home is her mother. Their relationship is suffocating her; she wants to get away and make her own choices. But she does still need her mother, Lois, to take her to the south of France. During their "last" trip together, they try to enjoy themselves, but unspoken irritations and the approaching goodbye fill the air. Kees can't wait to begin her own adventure, while Lois struggles with their changing relationship. A film about learning to let go and the complexities of a mother-daughter relationship.
