The film follows the journey of Bridget, a receptionist in her late 20s at a healthcare practice. Today (like most days), she grapples with heartbreak, motherhood and the demands of a crumbling healthcare system. Locked into a disconnected routine, it is when she picks up the phone to Kirsty, a mum struggling with severe anxiety, that something brings her back to life. As Bridge and Kirsty discover a shared past, they find an unlikely alliance despite the many differences they have. And while enthralled in this intimate conversation, Bridget continues to deal with her surroundings, including Stephanie and Richard, an elderly couple navigating dementia. It is the endurance and gentleness of this couple’s love that gives Bridget a quiet hope for her own future.Bridge is a film about ‘care’ in all its forms and the importance of really listening to others, and ultimately ourselves.
