Jerusha West is a writer and film director based in the UK. She graduated from The Slade School of Fine Art as a painter, which has impacted her distinctive aesthetic. Her passion isfilmmaking that opens dialogue around issues of female experience, particularly through the thematic lenses of nostalgia and memory. As a consequence, her films are regularly set in periods of cultural and societal shifts, or in periods of personal psychological development in the lives of her characters. Setting psychological spaces in relation to the natural, physical world is a deeply important aspect of her work; pensive shots and hesitant pacing are rhythmically employed in order to engulf the viewer in the mind of the characters, the setting, and the landscape. Her ambition is to direct her own feature films. She is currently developing several short films whilst also writing her first feature length script.
