Savannah Acquah

Savannah (she/her) is a British/Ghanaian writer, director and actor making work with a focus on social justice and change. She creates film, theatre and TV that platforms unheard and unacknowledged voices, blending art forms and styles.With her writing and directing, Savannah’s short film, Dzifa, has screened at festivals in the UK and LA, including the Oscar-qualifying Pan African Film Festival and BAFTA-qualifying Encounters Film Festival, as well as at the finale of Queer Contact (2023). Her play, i don’t feel anything, was performed at Edinburgh Fringe and Contact Theatre (2022). Savannah has directed for the Royal Exchange Theatre’s Studio Theatre and assistant directed the theatre’s production of Let the Right One In (2022). Her writing has been longlisted for the National Theatre New Views playwriting competition (2017) and reached the Top 100 for Soho Theatre’s Verity Bargate Award (2020). Savannah's acting credits include being a series regular in Dolly Alderton's Everything I Know About Love (BBC One, 2022) and a guest lead in Paul Abbot's Wolfe (Sky, 2021).
