An intimate portrait of 15-year-old Jamie, who seeks freedom on two wheels.

Jamie (15) would rather spend day and night on his bike with its wide tires. When he’s practicing tricks, he finds himself in trouble less often. And, perhaps more importantly, for a little while, he doesn’t think about the youth institutions where he spent much of his childhood.

The documentary was shot on 16mm film (250D and 500T). It was Eva's first time working analog, and despite some technical setbacks — like a brief jam that left unexpected scratches — she found the process added something honest and tactile. The grain and texture gave the images a rough warmth that felt true to Jamie’s world.
