A music video with a sexy, tongue and cheek nod to early 60's sci-fi.

Perfect Fit is the new music video from South London musician Roxanne Tataei. With Tataei, herself, as creative director and Nwaka Okparaeke directing, this piece oozes creativity. The track is taken from her sophomore album, ‘Full Moon In Aries’, released independently, on September 24th 2018. It's energy is sensual disco-funk inspired with playful seducing lyrics from Roxanne; an ode to female sexual empowerment & a song that sits somewhere between Minnie Ripperton & Prince. It features saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, lead member of Mercury Music Prize nominated jazz band Sons Of Kemet.

Director Okparaeke << I was very excited when I first heard the song perfect fit. From listening to it once I envisioned the fun and funky aspect of the video. Roxanne shared the idea of creating an outta space setting and then from there we came up with the idea to do an intergalactic/fun/ Alien love story/space queen video.

Directing the video felt more like fun than work due to the dancers who gave amazing energy (special Shout out to abdu for his unique dance moves!)

We had a very talented team of people that executed the vision, And of course Roxanne came through with her saucy performance and choreography.

I also enjoyed Directing this video because it was a chance for me to showcase my aesthetic and creativity in a why that other projects haven't allowed.>>

Artist Tataei << I think the most important thing when creating is to be intentional & always, always focus on details. Explore every facet of an idea, don't leave a stone unturned & never ever settle. When having the idea to create this intergalactic, cosmic video, I knew we couldn't be reliant on only VFX to translate our vision, it had to speak in the performance, styling, makeup, hair etc. It's about creating & realising, fully rounded worlds, that's real magic. >>
