This project came from a place of betrayal and emotional overload, which led me to direct the music video while also building the paper-made world it takes place in. Rather than telling a literal story, the focus was on turning emotion into something physical.
Everything in the film was made by hand. The sets were constructed entirely from paper, cut, layered, stitched, and torn. The act of making became part of the meaning for me. Paper felt like the right material because it’s fragile but sharp, easy to damage, yet still capable of holding a lot of emotion. The spaces function more as emotional environments than realistic locations, shaped by repetition, labour, and imperfection.
The visual language is guided by symbolism inspired by tarot cards, using archetypes and recurring motifs. The film was created as a fully DIY, women-led collaboration, with a small team working closely and intuitively together. In a time when so much visual content feels fast, generated, and disposable, this project was about slowing down and making something tactile, honest, and human.
