Iona's lyrics in Murder Mystery made me reflect on our urge to run from parts of ourselves. The song inspired in me the value of not only sitting with discomfort, but embracing it; finding the harmony between the Divine and the Gruesome. She toys with the viewer through seduction, but we are perpetually, brutally, reminded of her darkness through the slicing of a lamb's heart, the filling of her cereal bowl with nails, or the dismembering of her dolls. Shot through both a voyeuristic lens (4k) and the perspective of her bunny (DV) we get a multidimensional perspective into her disturbed yet mesmerising world, leading us to the orchestration of her own fatal ending.
