The film explores the relationship between GILONE (the artist) and ASTRID, a figure who is both real and symbolic. Their bond is rooted in profound friendship, expressed through simple gestures and a physical closeness inherited from their childhood in the French Caribbean.
The film explores a formative friendship that has endured into adulthood, built on playfulness and shared experiences from their youth. Astrid therefore embodies GILONE’s memories, hopes, and projections. Together, they navigate vulnerability and the process of healing, in which platonic love emerges as a vital and transformative force.
