Filmed over the weekend at an apartment in the West Village, ‘I Hate Birthdays!’, explores that feeling where you just can’t quite stand yourself, nor the people you surround yourself with. Following a group of friends, during a birthday dinner with a surprise guest, we watch the group lie and cheat and argue. Haiba Khan (writer/director) says "I really wanted to write characters where not one truthful thing, exits their mouth. And scenarios where the more terrible these characters were behaving the more delicious it became, it’s meant to make you feel frantic, and tense and like your skin is a bit itchy." Originally as a proof of concept, Haiba is currently writing the feature length version of the film.
