Sweet dreams is a black comedy set in a remote motel, where a housekeeper is stuck in her monotonous work life. Sick of the repetitive humiliations by the employees and the motel guests, the woman eventually loses control and the feeling of revenge overcomes her.

The film revolves around the life of a woman whose job is to clean the empty rooms of a motel. Replacing dirty sheets, throwing away used condoms, cleaning glasses are her routine tasks. Reckless behaviour and subtle abuse interrupt her quiet routine and her inexpressive face starts letting hints on her true emotions. After losing her temper, the protagonist let herself go in a violent and uncontrollable reaction towards three motel guests.

Freed from her submissive tendency, the woman finally enjoys her independence. Both fans of Olmo's music, the choice of the song ‘Tornerai’ was made in order to create a contrast between the violent images of the bloody revenge and the tender and peaceful notes of the waltz-like song. Thanks to Olmo's song, Sara and Maria were able to portray a moment of extreme violence with humorous and poetic overtones. This was one of the main goals in making the film.
