'Love Over Gold' is a personal short documentary about Daisy Allen, an Irish artist who moves to South London, continuing the artistic legacy of her late mother. Known for her murals in the 80s, Daisy’s mother inspired Daisy’s own work, including her recent venture into tattooing — an art form her mother never explored.

While exploring her new neighbourhood, Daisy stumbles upon a mural her mother painted years ago. The encounter feels almost cosmic, as if fate led her to this hidden piece of her mother’s past. Was this discovery meant to bring her closer to the mother she lost too soon?

Through Daisy’s reflection on her mother's lasting influence, the film delves into love, loss, and the powerful marks we inherit.A Straight 8 Top 8 film, "Love Over Gold" premiered at the Festival de Cannes 2023, and has since been screened at BFI Southbank and The Prince Charles Cinema in London. It was also an official selection at the Berlin Commercial Awards 2023.
