It’s been months, and Robyn Redgrave, 34, hasn’t recovered from a breakup. Her zany friend and neighbour, Damon Hart, 26, drags her to a collective art group installation opening. Robyn meets a young goth dark wave singer, Ian Smith, 22, (the son of a witch — he’s unaware of his magical capabilities). They are instantly spellbound. After a little bit over a month of dating and forging her strength through pain with a boost from a magic elixir, Robyn ends it with the puppy-love-stricken Ian before Valentine's. So naturally, this heartbroken sausage pours all of his woeful feels into emo-ballads that he puts on a mixtape for Robyn on Valentine’s Day — her HEX! The tainted songs cast a spell on them and turn their universe into his heartbreak lyrics. They must play each song through, OR they will be forever stuck on repeat! This project is originally an 80-page script that has been turned into a 5-minute visual slide piece. The protagonist's name was changed to Robyn in honour of Rob Riener. The goal is to turn this strange love story into a feature film. The dream team to provide some of the music would be both Charli XCX, whom Fernandez (the director) did makeup for in 2014 during SXSW MTV Woodie Awards, and George Daniel, who happened to give Fernandez his copy of Sapines on New Year's Eve in 2019. Kismet vibes there!
